Hello, my name is Carol Hammer, I’m from Teachers College, Columbia University And this is a follow-up to a professional development program that we recently did in Ghana and this is my colleague Belinda Bukari. Hello, I’m Belinda Bukari in charge of education of learners with intellectual and developmental disabilities at the special education division Ghana Education Service headquarters, Accra This final video looks at the letter knowledge and sounds specifically teaching the alphabets and letter names and sounds. Ready (Singing the Alphabet Song) (Singing Ghanian song) We’re gonna do the alphabet This is the alphabet, but we’re just gonna do the first part of the alphabet So everyone do it with me! Let’s say: A, B, C, D, E Let’s do it again (in unison) A, B, C, D, E Great! And let me see Who might be able to do the alphabet for me? Abigail, can you do it with me? A, A, B, C, D, (in unison) E Alright, great job! (applause) So once the children know “A, B, C, D, and E” We’re going to add F, G, and H. So let’s try it. (in unison) A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H Yay! (applause) And we’ll continue to add three letters every time the children master that first set of letters
